Linda Hollett-Bazouzi is a well-known painter of local, regional, and international landscapes. A devoted and driven en plein air painter, she travels with her oil paints and paint knife down the street and around the world. She does not consider her plein air works ‘studies’, and they are not done with larger pieces in mind. Rather, they are finished works that stand on their own, that may or may not inform later studio pieces.

In 2013 she travelled to Tunisia as part of one hundred artists from around the world who gathered in Monastir, to visit and paint in the region. In 2016 she travelled to the Netherlands to attend a three-day workshop with landscape painter Roos Schuring. Other travels have included England, Italy, Egypt, Israel, Palestine, Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, Israel, Russia and Estonia (as part of the Soviet Union). Hollett-Bazouzi returned to Egypt for a fifth trip in November, 2018, and in 2023 returned to Jerusalem, to spend 2 weeks in the Old City.

Linda Hollett-Bazouzi received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in art from Radford University. A world traveller, she has studied Latin, German, Italian, French, and Arabic.

In 2012 she became a docent at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. She served on the Docent Committee as Enrichment Coordinator, organizing opportunities for museum docents to enhance their understanding of art studio processes and artists' practices.

Hollett-Bazouzi taught art in Henrico County Public Schools for over 35 years.  During that time she was awarded recognition at the state and local level for her art program, and achieved National Board Certification in Early/Middle Childhood Art in 2002. She taught adult art classes through Henrico County Parks and Recreation and J. Sargeant Reynold Community College. For over 20 years she presented workshops for Virginia art teachers at Virginia Art Education State Conferences and Central Region of Virginia mini-conferences.

Hollett-Bazouzi has worked with water-miscible oil paints for the past 17 years, and uses a paint knife rather than a brush. Recently she began working in gouache and egg tempera. To see her work and read more about her process:
